Note that online registration is now closed since today 8am Saturday May 3rd (web form below is no longer accessible), but players who are then not registered yet can still go to the tryouts and do an on-site registration at the tryouts but it will cost $25 instead of $15).
Where
Note that this year the try-outs will take place at the Multiplex which
is different from previous years (click Field Locations link for directions).
When
Try-out times for each age group are posted on the
Latest Forms section on the right (or click
Try-out times).
Note that if a player arrives mid-season,
please contact Director of Coaching to see if there is a roster opening on a team.
Can't make the try-out date?
Try-outs are mandatory, but if you have an unchangeable conflict, contact the Try-out
coordinator, Vivien Conlon at
tvconlon@call-now.com. Exceptions will only be permissible
for legitimate reasons such as illness, injury, family event: wedding, funeral, etc.
What to bring
-Soccer Ball
-Water bottle (labeled)
-Email confirmation of try-out registration
-$15 try-out fee (cash or check made out to SYSA).
What to wear
-Indoor soccer shoes since try-out is at Multiplex
-Shin guards inside your socks
-T-shirt & Shorts (coaches need to see your legs and feet so don't wear long pants)
-No jewelry
Time of arrival
Please arrive 30 minutes before your try-out. Kids who have transitioned into a try-out mode
always do better.
To eliminate all evaluation bias, players are evaluated by number, and not by name, and some of the coaches who evaluate them are outside coaches who do not know them. Depending on the number of players trying out for a certain age group, an A, B, and possibly even a C-team can be formed.
