For the 2010-2011 fall and spring outdoor seasons, the younger PFC teams (U9 through U13) will have one 90 minute PFC practice and one PFC game each weekend (usually on Saturdays). Each season has 8 games (usually 4 home and 4 away). The PFC games and 1 practice are meant to complement the players travel experience and the players are therefore required to continue playing for their respective travel club, whether it is SYSA or other club. There are additional footskills and goalie training opportunities for players interested in further developing their soccer skills. The outdoor cost is one fee of $450 which covers both the fall and spring seasons (scholarships and partial scholarships are available).
For the 2010-2011 fall and spring outdoor seasons, the older PFC teams (U14) will have 2 PFC practices and one PFC skill session each week and one weekend PFC game (again, usually on Saturdays). These players are not required to play for their travel team. For those players who choose to play for their travel teams in addition to PFC, the skill session will not be required. These teams play 6 fall and 6 spring games in addition to fall, winter, and spring tournaments. There are additional footskills and goalie training as well. The outdoor cost is one fee of $700 (for U14 players only) which covers both the fall and spring seasons (scholarships and partial scholarships are available). PFC is a partially volunteer run organization so parents are asked to volunteer or pay a $50 fee in lieu of volunteering.
The indoor winter season is comprised of two indoor sessions with 8 games each which are played at local indoor facilities. Each team will also have one 60 minute indoor team practice. There are also additional sessions available involving finishing, footskills, and goalie training (check home page). The first session is usually from November till mid-January and the second session from mid-January till March. The cost for each indoor session is approximately $190 per season.
The age boundary is Aug 1 for each particular age group. If you are not sure, please use this online Soccer Age group calculator to figure out the Uxx age group your child belongs to this season. Occasionally, a player is put on a one-year older team (i.e. playing up), depending on talent and numbers of available other players. Contact the Director of Coaching Paul Driesen if you would like to see if there is a roster opening on a particular PFC team (driesentsa@cox.net).
