SYSA Recreational League

The Registration "SYSA Recreational League" is not currently available.

GENERAL INFORMATION

SYSA offers girls and boys teams for players in grades 1-6.   There are no tryouts and we strive to provide every player substantial playing time.  Players are also allowed the opportunity to play in different positions throughout the season.

League Details

Seasons:

  • Fall- Late August to end of October (8 weeks) 
  • Indoor (optional)- During the winter months
  • Spring- Early April to early June outdoor seasons (8 weeks)

Grades: 1st-6th boys and girls

Divisions: See below chart

Schedule: Teams practice once a week  with games on Saturdays. Practices and games encourage skill and tactical development. 

  • Practice: Weeknights in Shaker
  • Games: Saturday, generally:
    • 1st-4th grade teams:  TBD
    • 5th-6th grade teams:  TBD

Coaches: We rely on parent volunteers. SYSA Staff Coaches mentor all coaches.

Age Groups:

Boys 1st-2nd grade Girls 1st-2nd grade
Boys 3rd-4th grade Girls 3rd-4th grade
Boys 5th-6th grade Girls 5th-6th grade

Fees & Commitments

Outdoor fees are due at the registration; each season is 8 weeks long.

  • Fall 2022: $110
  • Spring 2023: $110
  • Fall and Spring Season (if register together): $200

Indoor fees are due 1 month before the session begins; each session is 8 weeks long. Discounts may be given for advance payment of two sessions at the time of session 1 registration.

  • Winter session 1: early November - late December
  • Winter session 2: early January - early March

Fees are paid online by credit card (VISA or MC). Convenience fees are included in the fees below. Payment plans are available.

All accounts must be in good standing to be eligible for league play. Player passes will be held until accounts are paid in full or a payment plan is in place.

Refunds are only given in the case of season-ending injury or significant family relocation.

 

Volunteer!

Each team will have a volunteer head coach, assistant coach and team manager. Please consider volunteering to be part of the team!

Coach a Team!
Let us know if you are interested in coaching.  All coaches must apply for a background check with our governing body OYSAN and pass the online Concussion Certification course, as described under the Coaches/Managers tab.

Manage a Team!
Let us know if you would like to be the manager of a team.  Team Managers are responsible for week to week communications with team regarding schedules, cancellations, etc.
